Thieß Petersen

Thieß has been with the Bertelsmann Stiftung since 2004. As a Senior Advisor in the “Sustainable Social Market Economy” program, he focuses on macroeconomic analyses and economic policy issues. His current work centers on questions related to ecological transformation, international division of labor, and public finance. Thieß studied economics in Paderborn and Kiel. He then worked as a research associate at the Institute for Theoretical Economics at Kiel University (Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel). After that, he was a research associate and lecturer in economics at the University of Applied Sciences in Heide. He also served as a project consultant at the DAG-Forum Schleswig-Holstein (then ver.di-Forum Nord) in Kiel, later becoming its managing director. In addition to his work at the Bertelsmann Stiftung, Thieß is the author of several economics textbooks.
