Oktober 2015","date_unix":1444655915,"date_modified_unix":1690538363,"date_iso":"2015-10-12T13:18:35+00:00","content":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bst-europe.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2015\/10\/GES-Images-1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\u00d6ffnet in einem neuen Tab\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full_grid_size wp-image-4306\" src=\"https:\/\/bst-europe.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2015\/10\/GES-Images-1-780x439.jpg\" alt=\"GES-Images (1)\" width=\"780\" height=\"439\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.global-economic-symposium.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\u00d6ffnet in einem neuen Tab\" >Global Economic Symposium<\/a> (GES), taking place this year in Kiel from October 12<sup>th<\/sup> to 14<sup>th<\/sup>, is aimed at finding solutions for global problems, such as financial crisis, climate change or vicious cycles of poverty that need global cooperation in our more and more interdependent world today.<\/p>\n<p>The GES brings together top panelists from all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>In policy-making, high level guest speakers will include Aart De Geus (Chairman and CEO, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bertelsmann-stiftung.de\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\u00d6ffnet in einem neuen Tab\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bertelsmann Stiftung<\/a>); Pascal Lamy (honorary president, think tank Notre Europe and former Director-General, World Trade Organization); Claudia Buch (Deputy President, Deutsche Bundesbank); Mehmet \u015e\u0130M\u015eEK (Turkey\u2019s Finance Minister), among others.<\/p>\n<p>In what concerns academia, guest speakers will include Nobel Laureate George Akerlof and Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal (President, Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Getulio Vargas).<\/p>\n<p>Business leaders such as Hans-Paul B\u00fcrkner (Chairman, Boston Consulting Group) and Antonio Sim\u00f5es CEO, HSBC Bank will also take part on this event.<\/p>\n<p>This year the <strong>GED team<\/strong> hosts a session on \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.global-economic-symposium.org\/knowledgebase\/multilateral-regionalism-and-emerging-markets-opportunities-and-risks-in-gloal-trade\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\u00d6ffnet in einem neuen Tab\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Multilateral Regionalism and Emerging Markets \u2013 Opportunities and Risks in Global Trade<\/a>\u201d. The session will be held on the 14<sup>th<\/sup> October at 13:15 CET.<\/p>\n<p>As global markets are splitting up into fewer but more powerful trading blocs due to the increasing number of regional and mega-regional trade agreements such as TTIP, one has to ask how third parties and especially emerging markets may benefit or suffer from such agreements.
