European Forum Alpbach<\/strong>: Every year decision-makers <\/strong>and experts from all over the globe gather in the picturesque Austrian mountain village of Alpbach<\/strong><\/i> to discuss current political and economic developments. This year, GED team member Thomas Rausch will join as a speaker.<\/p>\n

Perfect Timing<\/h2>\n

The organizers could have hardly picked a more timely date. The 2019 Alpbach Economic Symposium<\/strong> , i.e. the economic sessions of the European Forum Alpbach,\u00a0take place in the wake of the G7 Summit in Biarritz, France. From August 27 to 29, business leaders, policymakers and economic experts will take some time to digest the results – or lack thereof – of the G7 summit and take a closer look at the state of current economic affairs.<\/p>\n

Liberty and Security<\/h2>\n

Under the theme, liberty and security, participants will analyze how the economic and political uncertainty emanating from the Chinese-American trade war, Brexit and the geopolitical tensions in the Persian Gulf are likely to affect global growth and prosperity. Apart from these major current events, the structural shifts toward a more digital global economy and the need to mitigate and adapt to the fallout of climate change will most likely take center stage.<\/p>\n

European Forum Alpbach: GED’s Contribution<\/h2>\n

On August 28, the GED team will contribute to the break-out session „Company Future Under Scrutiny?<\/a>“\u00a0Based on the findings from our current project phase team member Thomas Rausch will give an introductory presentation on globalization’s current state of play. Afterwards, two international companies will present the findings from a scenario process, in which they developed practical solutions on coping with an increasingly networked and ecologically sensitive global economy.<\/p>\n
