He studied International Relations at the University of Münster and at Sciences Po Lille. Nico holds a double master’s degree in International and European Governance. His studies focused on the EU's external action, the EU's southern neighborhood policy as well as water cooperation and water diplomacy. After graduation, he worked as a Postgraduate Research Fellow at the German Institute for Development and Sustainability (IDOS) and as a Junior Advisor at GIZ Tunisia.
