In the Stiftung he works on topics of EU democracy, EU reform and citizen participation. Before joining the Bertelsmann Stiftung, he worked as a researcher and lecturer at the University of Amsterdam and held a post-doctoral fellowship at the Amsterdam Center for Contemporary European Studies (ACCESS Europe). Andrey defended his PhD at Central European University in Budapest where he researched implementation of the EU cohesion policy in the Central and Eastern European states. He published extensively on EU governance, European civil society and EU cohesion policy.
